So, when I transitioned from an e-commerce site to a blog I thought to myself, “This is going to rock. I will be able to market and bring attention to my products like never before.” I thought I would write every day. Tell clever stories. Have people enraptured with my wit and sense of irony. I convinced myself I would be witty and clever and that people would hit the site daily to see what my keen mind had come up with since their last visit.

Turns out I was a bit, well, misguided. Ok, perhaps a tidge delusional. I had not envisioned or considered the illusive nature of the mistress known as clever repartee. Nor did I foresee how I would struggle to muster something clever. I am telling you all this as a form of apology, as a promise that I will try to do better. To paraphrase Scarlett, as God as my witness, I will be clever and witty and keen and all that good stuff. It may take time. It may take many stabs at glory. But it will be done.

In the meantime, I hope you will check back regularly to see new products. I continue to load products regularly. So, please, check those out. Plus, you should check back regularly to see if I have tamed that elusive mistress known as wit. You know I will make her my bitch, the real question is when. Stay tuned!

Hi All-
As I mentioned to many of you before I am trying to keep up the momentum toward the goal of getting ALL the stuff loaded on to the Etsy site. As of now, I have about half the jewelry loaded on to the site and plan to get pictures and descriptions of the rest shortly. I am now moving on to the hair accessories and pillowcase shirts/dresses. It will all be up before you know it!

I want to be the first to welcome you to the new home of PYP Arts & Designs. Those who have have been the friends and customers who make PYP possible (say that fast 10 times:)) will notice a new look and feel to the site. I have decided to convert my shop from an e-commerce site to a blog. Partly to take a new and more proactive approach to marketing my products, and partly as a manner to let you see more of my personality in the site. I am certain that you will see more personality in my words and topics of conversation than you could ever tell from simply taking in the design choices, pictures or the information on the “about” page.

Like most things that we invest our passions and enthusiasm in, my journey to creating jewelry, dresses, hair accessories and so on began almost by accident. Had you asked me years ago if I thought one day I would be sewing, wielding a glue gun or obsessing over beads, I would have said, “um, not likely.” But, alas, here we are in the home of my business based on those very impulses to create. And I have to say, I LOVE it! I had no idea that the hobby I picked up based on the necessity that lack of spending money brings would become something that has grown so important to me as a forum of expression. It truly amazes me that life’s twists and turns produce the unexpected kismet that makes life magical in small but steady ways.

So, there you have it, the short story of how this site came to be. I hope you will check back regularly for new posts, products and, possibly, a random thought or two. I can’t promise genius, but I can promise some fashionable products and fun thoughts. I hope to see you back here again soon– oh, and often!
